DMCHA is a tertiary amine, liquid at room temperature. It is manufactured either by the reaction of methyl chloride or formaldehyde and hydrogen with cyclohexylamine.

Dimethylcyclohexylamine is used in polyurethane plastics and textiles and as a chemical intermediate. The main application is as catalyst for polyurethane systems and for the production of surface materials, fillers of biding agents, sealing agents, softeners.
