Disodium Sebacate (DSS)
DESCRIPTION
DSS is a sodium salt of sebacic acid. Appears as white powder
It is a modern corrosion inhibitor. It makes possible systems with low water content (no need to neutralize with watery NaOH solution as in case of acids).
Our DSS is approved by FDA (CFR 21.178.3570) for incidental food contact in greases.

Water and glycol (MEG, DPG) based coolants for automotive, aircraft and refrigerating appliance applications Waterless glycol based coolants
In these applications sebacic acid as corrosion inhibitor is being replaced.
Industrial greases and lubricants.
Its fine particle size allows addition to the grease during the cool down period without need for additional processing.
DSS is e.g. also used to replace sodium nitrites in aluminium greases.
Used also in bentonite thickened greases.
