Purified Isophthalic Acid (PIA)
DESCRIPTION
PIA is a colourless solid organic compound. produced by the oxidation of m-xylene. PIA is used mainly as a component of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) copolymer to make bottle resins. It is an isomer of phthalic acid and terephthalic acid. PIA is used in making synthetic resins to be used as plasticizers.
