Trimellitic Anhydride (TMA)
DESCRIPTION
Trimellitic Anhydride is a reactive chemical compound, which derives from a phthalic anhydride and a trimellitic acid. It is a trifunctional anhydride and has a highly reactive chemical compound. They have low volatitiy and are highly permanant plasticizers for PVC products. They can withstand high humidity enviroments.

MAJOR APPLICATIONS
Main application of TMA is esterfication of alcohols. It is also used in the production of resins, powder coatings, and as a binder for glass fibers. Vinyl plasticizers based on TMA, are used as an embossing agent for flooring and as a curing agent for epoxy resins. TMA is used additionally as an intermediate for the synthesis of surface coatings chemicals, adhesives, polymers, dyes printing inks, pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals.
